There's an old cliché that states that, upon realising that the universe is out to get you, you wish you hadn't gotten up. This is untrue, at least in my case. Upon realising this, you see the fragility of human life around you. You see how foolish they look; rushing around with their screaming parasites in tow, fighting their petty family disputes, swearing profusely at the slightest inconvenience, merrily destroying their habitat so they can get home a little faster, so they won't miss the next episode of their favourite melodrama. Modern-day primates doing their level best to imitate mindless insects.

The day births upon a virgin 06:59, my roommate’s alarm screaming; my own alarm clock shrieks moments later for good measure, and my watch alarm pipes in momentarily for that extra little touch...
